VisAid is a web-based application. VisAid was created in collaboration with Alfred Health's Mental Health and Intellectual Disability – Youth (MHIDI-Y) team. VisAid is licensed to Blueboat, which operates the platform and may work with Alfred Health as a data partner for specific research and evaluation purposes. This policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information when you use visaid.org.au and the VisAid platform https://visaid.app/ ("Service").

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of data: Account Information: Name, email address, password. Usage Data: User preferences, story creations, and feature usage. Uploaded Content: Images and text added to the user’s private media library. Technical Information: IP address, browser type, and system logs.

We use your information to: Provide, maintain, and improve the VisAid platform Store and organise your visual stories and uploads Respond to support requests and feedback Ensure security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms

Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in encrypted environments. Backups are performed regularly to minimise the risk of data loss. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure.

Image and Content Privacy

Images and content uploaded to your account are private and not shared with other users. We do not use user-uploaded content for commercial purposes unless expressly permitted by you.

Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may disclose information: To trusted service providers who support the hosting, operation, analytics, and maintenance of the VisAid platform, and who only access information required for their function To Alfred Health for research, evaluation, or data analysis. Data Retention

User content and data are retained while your subscription is active. If your account is cancelled or terminated, all associated data will be permanently deleted.

Access and Control

You may access and update your personal information via your profile settings. You may delete your account at any time, which removes your data from our systems.

Children's Privacy

VisAid is not intended for children under the age of 13 without adult supervision. Users must be authorised carers, health professionals, or educators.

User Responsibility and Safe Use

Users are responsible for the information, images, and content they upload to the Service. Before uploading any material, users should ensure that the content is appropriate, lawful, and suitable for digital storage. Users should avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information about themselves or others, and must not upload content without the consent of any individual who may be identifiable within that material.

Users must ensure that any content uploaded does not breach confidentiality obligations, privacy rights, or intellectual property rights. Blueboat takes reasonable steps to protect stored data, but cannot control or take responsibility for the nature of the information users choose to upload. Users are encouraged to review their content carefully before submission and to use secure practices, such as logging out when using shared or public devices.
